HTC Status – A New Smartphone for Facebook Addicts

Facebook is great way to stay connected with friends and family from anywhere. It allows you to share your stuff, chat and do things from your imagination, and what a better way to connect to Facebook than on a smartphone when you are short on time? HTC Status is a smarphone installed with latest version of Android and has Facebook dedicated button, and it is just the thing for Facebook addicts. It was released in July this year and it is currently available with AT&T.

There are many smartphones with dedicated keys so what makes HTC Status so smart? Well it runs on latest version of Android Gingerbread (Android 2.3) operating system, which is packed with some really interesting features such improved typing, better power and speed management, and more colorful user-interface. It is also expected that Android Gingerbread will be replaced with newer version of Android. HTC Status is also their first smartphone with Android operating system.

On First Glance

The new HTC Status has a small dedicated blue button on right hand side under QWERTY. It was originally introduced in white color but it is also available in two more colors. The smartphone is partly white and grey, and it looks great together. Beside QWERTY it has two extra buttons for general use. It has 2.6-inch wide screen and it is easier to browse internet. It is has 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM and has a long battery life. It has quick response to commands and it offers fast internet browsing than many mid-size smartphones.

HTC Status

The HTC Status offers good grip and it is easy to type long messages with large QWERTY keys. There is also a special button for “.com” just to make tying URLs extra easy. It also has 5MP camera with LED flashlight on the back, and VGA camera on the front side for video calling applications. It has 3.5mm dock and power button on top, and has mini USB port and volume control on its left side. The keys on the phone have good space and it is very easy to type. The smartphone is also not straight like block but it actually has small curve between screen and keypad allowing users to have better grip while typing. HTC Status also allows users to tag and add comments, before posting photos and videos on Facebook. Users can also share music they are listening on the phone.

The Facebook button comes really handy as it allows users to check their status with just a click. But when you are running other applications, the Facebook button lightens indicating that the smartphone is ready to share stuff on Facebook. It is sleek, light and very cheap especially for youngsters.

The HTC Status was formerly called HTC ChaCha and it was first introduced in Mobile World Congress. This smartphone can only be bought through a 2-year contract with AT&T for $50, and with first HTC Android smartphone it is expected to see Android phones by HTC.
